Dear All,

I am very pleased to announce the arrival of JP Bouchard in our European Mobile Devices team.

JP joins as Senior Research Analyst in our European Mobile Devices team, taking responsibility for our quarterly mobile device research. Working closely with myself and bloup, he will be responsible for driving, extending and developing our quarterly mobile device tracking and making the most of the mobile phone opportunity. His experience working for Microcell, a Canadian mobile network operator, will also assist us in building stronger relationships with mobile network operators in Europe, as well as with the channel. He will also help us further develop our business with our European prospects, especially in France. JP will remain based in France, although travelling regularly to the London office.

Many of you will know JP already. JP joined IDC France in December 2000 and held the position of Senior Research Analyst and was in charge of monthly and quartely PC research and IT distribution channels and worked on multiple hardware consulting projects. Prior to joining IDC, JP held a position of marketing analyst for Microcell Telecommunications Inc (Fido), a Canadian mobile network operator, now owned by Rogers Wireless.

Thanks to his strong analysis and communication skills, I am delighted to welcome JP in our group and am confident he will be a great asset to our European Mobile Devices team and will contribute very quickly to add value to our mobile devices research and become a key analyst in our group.
